ScubaForce Arctic Undersuit minimieren

ScubaForce Arctic X9 – the Undersuit who sets new standards

... probably the warmest undersuit on the market ...

They proximity of 3M played a crucial role. Both the staff expertise, as well as the technical equipment of the company headquarter supported ScubaForce focused on the development of the new and unique undersuit.

3M performed material tests to determine the ideal product choice for the X9 undersuit. In addition to the insulation values of course, also secondary factors such as washability, breathability and durability played a crucial role. Thinsulate all classes have been associated with different fiber qualities and strengths in combination tested.

As a non-woven fiber such as Thinsulate not without inner and outer shells can be processed, the samples were directly tested as a sandwich. As these shells often restrict the freedom of movement was only a material in question, which has the best performance: Polartec Power Strech. The Polartec material offers very good insulation properties and an extraordinary high level of breathability.

The test results were surprising findings, since some of the competitors used Thinsulate not met the expectations and should not be used at all for undersuits .... Stephanie Uch 3M summarizes the results in her report as follows:

"The heat values are significantly higher than in the respective data sheet for the Thinsulate material, which is located at the A. and surfaces, as this also has its own heat value. After washing, all samples have a good heat value. Restrictive, however, be noted that B types are not suitable for the laundry ... and even after 5 washes showed severe damage. Finally, I recommend that in any case, the CS - Type. It is pressure-stable, has a good imt value, the sandwich has a heat value of 0.5 prior to the wash. It is very thin and there is also freedom of movement. "

This was the test results from: rct (m² K / W) 0.5 Tet (m² Pa / W) 47.6 imt 0.63 (values determined in accordance with ISO 11092)

But the choice of material is only one side of the coin. Another important note from 3M, it was the sub-puller to minimize seams to construct. Each seam is a tremendous loss of insulation. The outer shell, for optical reasons, with as many seams to provide isolation is a technical point of view counter-productive.

Thus also for the construction of clear guidelines. On purpose there is no Thinsilate filling used in the arm and lower leg area. Because of this , the undersuit supports a optimal water situation and there are no restrictions in regards to the mobility of the diver at all.

About six months took the practical test phase for the Arctic X9 test divers. A dozen experienced divers performed over 100 test dives under varying conditions.

And ALL have confirmed it: The ScubaForce X9 is the warmest and most comfortable Undersuit they ever used.
